Jean graduated from the University of Wales, College of Medicine in June 2005 with a BSc in Occupational Therapy. She has worked for the NHS and in private practice in London over 15 years in a variety of settings. In 2013 Jean completed a Masters in Hand Therapy at Brunel University. She was awarded accreditation as a Hand Therapist (AHT) by the British Association of Hand Therapy (BAHT) in November 2013 (renewed in 2019) and in 2021 Jean furthered her clinical training receiving Certification as a Hand Therapist by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC).
Jean has a keen interest in working in developing countries and over the past 10 years has worked as a Hand Therapist in Haiti for a non-profit organisation (CBM) and in Nepal with Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Donald Sammut and his team in Working Hands Charity.
In September 2019 Jean and her family relocated from London to Ireland where she now works as a Hand Therapist in private practice with Orthopaedic Consultant Mr Philip Grieve, in Blackrock Clinic.
In March 2022 Jean opened The Hand Therapy Clinic, a private clinic in central Dublin offering Hand Therapy Services for the elbow, wrist and hand.
Jean is passionate about hand therapy and committed to providing best practice in a holistic and client centred manner.
Jean is married with 3 young children. She is a keen open water swimmer and enjoys subjecting herself to the occasional triathlon.
